Heading over with 2 friends, Gary and Robert, hopefully for a year, but who knows! If I like it I could extend the Visa for another year!
Last night I applied for my Visa, which wasn't too difficult. Just a few check boxes really saying that you aren't a serial killer/ drug runner and that was it. Until the end when they wanted £200 just to "process" the online application.
Next thing to do is finish off my CV for when I get over there and book flights. The plan is to head out in the middle of October, that way we can take a week to look around the city, get used to times and the weather. Being from such a small country like Northern Ireland, it will make a big change to be thrown into such a massive place that seems so foreign.
All being well I survive and don't get attacked by a poisonous snake, a deadly spider, attacked by a giant alligator or boxed to death by a killer kangaroo. Actually that's not a bad way to go out, if I was fortunate to have to pick my own way I think I would fancy a kangaroo. It would be pretty funny...
Only really using this for myself to look back on after the trip but if somehow people stumble upon this blog feel free to browse, meander and peregrinate through my thoughts and ramblings.
Anyway, that's enough for today. Just a quick post really to say what is happening and what to look forward to.
